About
How does the graphic design influence and reflect the public space and social phenomena of four Central European countries, so-called Visegrad Four, Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia: the question to be pointed within the graphic designers’ meeting on 3 November 2016 at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. The designers and curators who have their say over the Central European graphic-design-sphere of Visegrad Four countries will introduce their projects and methods to a professional Turkish audience.
With regard to the premise that the graphic design absorbs the specifics of its broader local socio-cultural context, an accompanying exhibition will put the participating designers’ most public-space-influencing or public-space-influenced works on display. (Public opening on 3 November in Hungarian Cultural Center.)
On 4 November, Marcin Nowicki and Katarzyna Nestorowicz (Post Studio Noviki, Warsaw, Poland) will give a graphic design workshop entitled Alien Fields of Knowledge considering how to transform our mental borders into visual language signs. — All events are free of charge. Registration to the workshop is required: www.v4istanbul.org. With interpreting to Turkish.
