Esej filmowy „Obraz poza okiem. Refleksje nad rozwojem obrazu w erze technologii” to refleksyjna opowieść o przemianach wizualności w świecie zdominowanym przez algorytmy, sztuczną inteligencję i systemy cyfrowe. Film bada, w jaki sposób obraz przestaje być wyłącznie efektem ludzkiego spojrzenia, a staje się wytworem złożonych relacji między technologią, danymi i nieludzkimi formami percepcji.

Autor analizuje proces stopniowego przesuwania się obrazu poza granice ludzkiego oka — ku maszynowemu widzeniu, automatycznemu przetwarzaniu i generowaniu obrazów oraz nowym reżimom widzialności. Esej łączy warstwę wizualną z filozoficzną i kulturową refleksją nad tym, jak technologia wpływa na nasze sposoby postrzegania, interpretowania i rozumienia rzeczywistości.

Film powstał jako rezultat rocznego stypendium Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego i stanowi część projektu Future Fragments — inicjatywy badającej relacje między inteligencją, technologią i kulturą. Prezentacji eseju towarzyszy spotkanie i rozmowa z autorem, Marcin Nowicki, poświęcona procesowi twórczemu oraz przyszłości obrazu w epoce technologicznej transformacji.
Premiera odbywa się w Krupa Art Foundation we Wrocław i wpisuje się w szerszy dyskurs projektu, który traktuje technologię nie jako przeciwieństwo natury, lecz jako integralną część współczesnego ekosystemu kulturowego.

The video essay “Image Beyond the Eye: Reflections on the Evolution of the Image in the Age of Technology” is a contemplative exploration of visual culture in a world increasingly shaped by algorithms, artificial intelligence, and digital systems. The film examines how images are no longer produced solely through human vision, but emerge from complex interactions between technology, data, and non-human forms of perception.

The author traces the gradual displacement of the image beyond the human eye—toward machine vision, automated image processing, and generative systems—while reflecting on new regimes of visibility and perception. Combining visual experimentation with philosophical and cultural inquiry, the essay asks how contemporary technologies transform the ways we see, interpret, and understand reality.

Created as the result of a one-year scholarship from the Minister Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego, the film forms part of Future Fragments, an initiative dedicated to exploring the evolving relationships between intelligence, technology, and culture. The screening is accompanied by a conversation with the author, Marcin Nowicki, focusing on the creative process and on the future of images beyond human perception.
The premiere takes place at Krupa Art Foundation in Wrocław, contributing to an ongoing, interdisciplinary dialogue that views technology not as an opposition to nature, but as an integral layer of the contemporary global ecosystem.
