FUTURE OF WORK LECTURES AND ART BOOK FAIRS TOUR 2019

In 2019, we are exhibiting our publications at the main book fairs in Europe.
Our line–up consists of Art Books Fairs in Stockholm, Madrid, London and Brussels among others.

In addition to Book Fairs we lead a series of lectures, focusing on the impact which automation technology, sharing economy and artificial intelligence have on our job, skills, wages and design process. How to design books if most of our everyday experiences come from a digital environment? How can we focus on the book as another design object if the economy undergoes a transition from the production of goods to the provision of services? On the basis of our publications, we will follow the transition of aesthetics and relations between the book as objects and their economic background. We ask what has changed and answer: Not much. Everything.

The exhibition is organized by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and is part of its programme promoting Polish design worldwide.

Culture.pl: Global Promotion of Polish Design

The Adam Mickiewicz Institute, a state-funded cultural institution, is responsible for promoting Poland and the Polish culture abroad. Under the Culture.pl brand we present high quality initiatives and events in the field of music, art and design. Culture.pl is a daily updated information service on the most interesting Polish culture events around the world. It is also the largest and most comprehensive source of knowledge about Polish culture. A special tab on design presents the latest trends in the contemporary Polish design and the latest projects of Polish designers.

The promotion of Polish design, carried out on a wide global scale, is one of the operational priorities of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute. Design is the platform for presenting the contemporary Polish culture and promoting Polish creativity. Starting in 2017, the programme to promote Polish design abroad now includes the very important design field that is fashion design. Our efforts in this area comprise a range of strategies – from establishing a presence at key fashion events like London Fashion Week to inspiring and supporting the work of individual designers.

The key to success is the fruitful cooperation with reputable partners, such as Ventura Lambrate (Milan), London Design Festival, Maison&Objet (Paris), Paris Design Week, DW! Sao Paulo Design Weekend, Inno Design Tech Expo (Hong Kong), Business of Design Week (Hong Kong), Istanbul Design Week, International Furniture Fair Singapore, Design Trade Copenhagen, International Contemporary Furniture Fair (New York), Wanted Design (New York), Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair, What Design Can Do! (Amsterdam), Dutch Design Week (Eindhoven) and Wallpaper*.
